Dr. Nosa Egiebor, PhD; P.E.

Senior International Officer, Executive Director of OGE, & Professor of Chemical Engineering

Dr. Egiebor is Senior International Officer (SIO) for The University of Mississippi and the Executive Director of the Office of Global Engagement. Dr. Egiebor holds a PhD degree in Chemical/Metallurgical Engineering from Queen’s University in Ontario, Canada, a master’s degree from the University of Manchester in the UK, and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Benin in Nigeria. He has over 30 years of direct involvement and leadership in international higher education, both as an administrator and as a faculty member. Dr. Egiebor is passionate about the preparation of students to become future global leaders and scholars through structured and comprehensive campus internationalization. His international education expertise is in partnerships development, international students’ recruitment, and student/scholar exchange. Dr Egiebor has held several senior academic, administration and research positions over the past 25 years, including as a department chair, U.S. Dept. of Energy Chair of Excellence Professor in engineering, and as a Vice President for International Education, Research & Development. Dr. Egiebor is a registered professional engineer (PE), and he had previously worked at The University of Alberta in Edmonton, Canada; The University of Benin in Nigeria; Florida Gulf Coast University in Fort Myers, Florida; and Tuskegee University in Tuskegee, Alabama. He has also been a visiting professor to numerous international universities, including the Technical University of Berlin in Germany and Ankara University in Turkey. He is an active member of several professional and higher education organizations and has published over 120 scholarly articles in journals, books, and conference presentations.
